Stakeholders

Our stakeholders include people and organizations impacting or impacted by forest lands in Summit County, Colorado. We are open to all who want to participate. We actively collaborate with the U.S. Forest Service, the Colorado State Forest Service, regional and local government agencies and various local groups.

We view the public at-large as a critical, many times underrepresented, stakeholder group. Understanding and accurately representing the varying and changing opinions of the public can be difficult, but in the end successfully doing so creates strong and lasting support for forest management decisions affecting us all. We view “social license” as a process - conditions change and people change their views. The on-going sharing of ideas and listening to other opinions is paramount to creation of a local forest management vision that a large majority of the public and other stakeholders can and will support.
