Jim Alexander - Weeds

For more than a decade, the Eagle Summit Wilderness Alliance (ESWA, formerly Friends of Eagles Nest Wilderness) has been fighting back noxious weeds - invasive species that take over native plants and gradually change the forest ecosystem.  Jim Alexander will present a version of his "Weedinar" that gives an overview of the invasive species that have invaded Summit County, the extent of current infestations, and the effect these weeds have on our forests.  He will also present ESWA's Weedspotter program for treating weed infestations.

Jim has lead the WeedSpotter Program for 4 years as he bootstrapped his knowledge about plant ecology.  He's trained as a Cognitive Scientist and spent the past 35 years in software development.
